An update about temporary course suspensions for 2026.

UTS has temporarily suspended new student intakes for some courses up to and including Autumn 2026 semester.

UTS continually reviews its course offerings as we want to make sure our curriculum is relevant to what students and employers need. The courses being suspended for new intake are those which have low student enrolments.

Our priority is to be a student-centred university offering an outstanding student experience and a curriculum and courses that reflect student demand and interest.

This is a key recruitment period for UTS, with Open Day coming up and many new students considering their options and applying to study.

This temporary suspension has no impact on current students at this time and is aimed only at prospective new students for 2026.

We want to ensure prospective students are able to make clear and timely decisions about courses available, without the risk of applying for courses that may not proceed.

UTS is committed to providing quality education and successful outcomes for our graduates, and any changes we make as part of this process will be aimed at strengthening our teaching and learning offering and improving the student experience.

Suspension of new student intake does not mean a course will automatically be closed. Sometimes intakes are suspended ahead of phase out, some intakes are suspended while courses are redesigned to refresh curriculum and/or better meet student demand before being offered again

The suspensions will be in place until a decision is made on the future of these courses following consultation with staff and unions through a change proposal process.

Temporary suspension of new student intakes for some courses up to and including for Autumn 2026 are listed by faculty below.
